Aloha Fire tribe,
Well first let me start by introducing myself. My name Is Bryan Axtell. And this year I am heading up the Fire Department. I feel blessed from all the Aloha I have received since joining this project. This year at Source the Fire Department is going to be monitoring all operations fire related. A team of Fire Marshals is being formed to oversee this. Their job is to walk the grounds and monitor any and all fires- From Dancers to camp stoves to Fire Art Installations. They will also be very involved in all Fire Art Installations during the time of burning and provide security for the perimeter.
This year there will be a 2 major performance art shows Fire related… as well as some Fire Art installations that will Awaken and then continue to inspire as they are set a blaze! Also people will be fire dancing throughout Source as they feel called too. And of course my favorite…..Flame Throwers will be present.
We will be organizing a Community Conclave Show at Source for the main burn on Saturday night around 10:30 pm. It will follow after the Body Alive Show. The second fire show will happen sometime after 9 pm on Sunday night leading up to the Temple Burn. Members of Merkabah Fire Productions along with some very special friends will be performing a ceremonial Dance before the temple burn in order to give honor to the people who have put Source together.
It is required for all Fire Dancers/Performers to register at the gate or with me before Source.
The Fire Installations must register no later than 3 weeks before the event which is January 30th. There will be designated areas for people to dance with fire this year. Our intention is to be more organized as a community in keeping safety a top priority.
If you are interested in helping the Fire Department by volunteering your time, or if you are a Fire Dancer or are creating an Art Installation that burns, please contact me at 808-276-0145.
Much Aloha to You All
